Seven Charge
The Viking line integrates an intelligent seven-stage automatic switching charging system, designed to optimally manage the various battery charging phases, adapting to the specific characteristics of the connected battery technologies. Digital control constantly monitors voltage, current, and battery status, dynamically adjusting the charging profile to maximize efficiency, safety, and durability. The charging cycle is managed through a controlled sequence of functional stages: desulfation, soft start, bulk charge, absorption, battery test, recondition, and float.
For applications on vehicles, campers, and marine vessels, the Viking line’s seven-stage charging system ensures reliable charging even under variable operating conditions, extending battery life, reducing the risk of premature failure, and ensuring consistent performance over time.
Boost Revive
The desulfation function is automatically activated in the initial charging phase of lead-acid batteries. The charger applies voltage and current pulses at controlled frequencies and durations, generating electrical micro-stresses on the plates. These stresses weaken the structure of lead sulfate crystals, facilitating their reconversion into lead and lead dioxide during subsequent charging phases. The result is an improvement in charge acceptance, the restoration of the battery’s electrical characteristics, and an extension of its useful life. Desulfation is an essential function for lead-acid batteries, as stable and insulating lead sulfate crystals form when a battery remains discharged or unused for prolonged periods. These deposits reduce available capacity, increase internal resistance, and compromise charging efficiency. In vehicle, camper, and marine outfitting, the desulfation function represents a concrete operational advantage: it allows for the recovery of partially degraded batteries, reduces the risk of premature replacements, and improves the reliability of the electrical system over time, ensuring a higher level of perceived quality for the end user.
Smart Chem
In batteries without an internal BMS, a common feature of all lead-acid batteries, it is essential to have a charger that allows for precise selection of the battery type: WET, AGM, or GEL. Indeed, for the same voltage and capacity, not only does the optimal shape of the charging curve change, but also the intervention thresholds of the individual charging stages. Using standard chargers without the Smart Chem function can lead to serious problems: in AGM batteries, incomplete charging and capacity reduction; in GEL batteries, gassing and micro-fractures of the gel with permanent damage. The Smart Chem function, integrated into the Viking series, allows for the selection of the battery technology and its automatic management by the charger. Via the front selector, the device automatically modifies voltages, currents, and charging times, adapting the profile of each of the 7 stages to the specific characteristics of the battery. For those building systems on vehicles, campers, or marine vessels, the Smart Chem function offers concrete benefits of compatibility with all lead-acid batteries without additional intervention, and a reduction in the risk of failure or premature replacement thanks to correct and calibrated charging.
